The Character Statistic System

The Character Statistic System Empty The Character Statistic System

Post by Admin Sun Nov 25, 2012 6:16 pm

Sit down and buckle up, 'cause here we go.

As you should be well aware, we use an extremely rigid Statistical System; I've been cut multiple times already from merely pressing the edit button. It may initially seem like a lot of information to take in, but I'll ease you through it. Follow me along, would you?

Let's start off by defining each individual Statistic:

The Statistics

  • Reiryoku: You have the energy to fight? Good for you, so do we. Reiryoku is unlike any other Stat; it does not directly affect you during combat. Instead, this Stat dictates your general power-level. This Stat will always be equal to the cumulative sum of all other Stats, except for Stamina.
  • Stamina: Out of breath already? Come on, man, I thought you'd be a challenge. Stamina is a unique Stat in that it dictates how long you can stay standing in any given fight. Each Combat Action drains Stamina, so the higher this Stat is, the longer you can stay in the ring. This Stat will always be equal to half of your Reiryoku Stat.
  • Strength: Your a badass, right? You like to smash faces with your rock-hard hands and cut heads with the edge of your blade, am I right? If so, then yea, this is definitely the Stat for you. Strength dictates how hard and fast you can strike physically.
  • Spirit: You like to twist the metaphysical to your will, do you? Make everything go boom? If so, then yea, this is definitely the Stat for you. Spirit dictates how hard and fast you can strike metaphysically.
  • Defense: Like an impenetrable wall, you stand firm against the onslaught of your enemies. You wipe your shoulders. Was that a fly? Defense dictates how well you are protected from your enemy's attacks.
  • Agility: You blink; you die. I blink; you die. Agility dictates how fast you can move and how fast you can respond to external forces.
  • Reiatsu: You shake the Heavens by merely releasing your Reiryoku. Your Spiritual Pressure is unreal. Let's keep it inside of you. Reiatsu serves many purposes, some of which will be elaborated on later. For now, let's state that Reiatsu dictates whether you fight an enemy advantaged or disadvantaged.
Statistic Clashing

Now that we've gotten acquainted with each individual Statistic, let's talk what happens when they clash with one another. Let's start off by introducing you to the Clash Tiers:

Matched+0-4% If both combatants's Clashing Stats are within 4% of each other, the Clash is considered Matched. Simply, both combatants's Actions are in the same tier of power; they're basically interchangeable.
Advantaged+5-14% If one of the combatant's Clashing Stats is higher by 5-14% of the other, the combatant with the higher Stat is considered Advantaged. Simply, the higher Stat combatant's Action will be on a slightly higher tier of power than that of his opponent.
Overpowered+15-24% If one of the combatant's Clashing Stats is higher by 15-24% of the other, the combatant with the higher Stat is considered Overpowered. Simply, the higher Stat combatant's Action will be on a noticeably higher tier of power than that of his opponent.
Dominated+25% If one of the combatant's Clashing Stats is higher by 25% of the other, the combatant with the higher Stat is considered Dominated. Simply, the higher Stat combatant's Action will be on a domineeringly higher tier of power than that of his opponent.
Got that out of the way. Now let's talk which Stats are able to clash with each other.

  • Strength c. Strength: This Clash occurs when two physical attacks collide.
  • Strength c. Spirit: This Clash occurs when a physical attack and a metaphysical attack collide.
  • Spirit c. Spirit: This Clash occurs when two metaphysical attacks collide.
  • Attack c. Defense: This Clash occurs when either a physical or metaphysical attack collides with Defense.
  • Agility c. Agility: This Clash occurs when two movement Actions collide.
  • Reiatsu c. Reiatsu: This Clash occurs when two Reiatsu Release Actions collide, typically at the beginning of a confrontation.
For sanity's sake, I'll only be thoroughly explaining the Attack c. Defense, the Agility c. Agility and the Reiatsu c. Reiatsu.

Dominated AttackerAttacking Stat is at least 25% above targets DefenseThe Dominated Attacker's attacks are absolutely crippling. Cleaving torsos, severing entire nervous systems and disintegrating entire beings to dust is the norm. Glancing Blows are just as destructive as direct hits.
Overpowered AttackerAttacking Stat is at least 15-24% above targets DefenseThe Overpowered Attacker's attacks are devastating. Slicing off limbs, shattering bones and melting flesh is the norm. Glancing Blows may tear muscle, break bones and burn flesh.
Advantaged AttackerAttacking Stat is at least 5-14% above targets DefenseThe Advantaged Attacker's attacks are powerful. Tearing muscle, breaking bones and burning flesh is the norm. Glancing Blows may cut, bruise and shallowly burn.
Matched Attacker/DefenderBoth Stats are between 0-4% of each otherBoth Attacker and Defender are evenly Matched. Cuts, bruises and shallow burns are the norm. Glancing Blows may suffer some wounds, but to a lesser extent than direct hits.
Advantaged DefenderDefense Stat is at least 5-14% above targets Attacking StatThe Advantaged Defender is still susceptible to injury, though to a lesser degree than when Matched. The Attacker's attacks are met with slight resistance, losing some potency when reaching its target. Severing limbs, shattering bones and melting flesh is difficult.
Overpowered DefenderDefense Stat is at least 15-24% above targets Attacking StatThe Overpowered Defender is still susceptible to injury, though to a lesser degree than when Advantaged. The Attacker's attacks are met with high resistance, losing much potency when reaching its target. Severing limbs, shattering bones and melting flesh is improbable.
Dominated DefenderDefense Stat is at least 25% above targets Attacking StatThe Dominated Defender is not susceptible to injury. The Attacker's attacks are met with immense resistance, losing all potency when reaching its target. Severing limbs, shattering bones and melting flesh is impossible.

Dominated AgilityAgility Stat is at least 25% above another Agility StatThe combatant holding Dominated Agility is undetectable. When he moves, his opponent isn't immediately aware; only when he stops to take his second step does his opponent see him.

As a holder of Dominated Agility, your opponent moves at the speed of molasses, as if you were a snake and your opponent a snail. You are able to avoid most everything, though with the caviate that certain circumstances will circumvent this discrepancy in speed.
Overpowered AgilityAgility Stat is at least 15-24% above another Agility StatThe combatant holding Overpowered Agility is difficult to detect. When he moves, his opponent is made aware, though not without his opponents full focus. If distracted, his opponent will lose track of him.

As a holder of Overpowered Agility, your opponent moves at slow speeds, as if you were a snake and your opponent a turtle. You are able to avoid the majority of things, though with the caviate that certain circumstances will circumvent this discrepancy in speed.
Advantaged AgilityAgility Stat is at least 5-14% above another Agility StatThe combatant holding Advantaged Agility is detectable. When he moves, his opponent is made aware, though if distracted, his opponent may lose track of him.

As a holder of Advantaged Agility, your opponent moves at slow-moderate speeds, as if you were a snake and your opponent a mouse. You are able to avoid a lot of things, though you begin to become susceptible to your enemy's Actions.
Matched AgilityBoth Agility Stats are at least 0-4% of each otherBoth combatants are detectable. They can see each other's movements.

As a holder of Matched Agility, your opponent moves at normal speeds, as if you and your opponent were both snakes. You are able to avoid certain things, though you are susceptible to your enemy's Actions.

Dominated ReiatsuReiatsu Stat is at least 50% above another Reiatsu StatThe combatant holding Dominated Reiatsu is able to Reiatsu Crush his opponent. His Spiritual Pressure literally suffocates those around him.

As a holder of Dominated Reiatsu, your opponent becomes incapacitated, unable to do much of anything. If your opponent remains within the effect-range of your Reiatsu, he risks falling unconscious.
Overpowered ReiatsuReiatsu Stat is at least 25-49% above another Reiatsu StatThe combatant holding Overpowered Reiatsu is able to Reiatsu Cripple his opponent. His Spiritual Pressure strongly affects those around him.

As a holder of Overpowered Reiatsu, your opponent becomes crippled, his Actions strongly hindered.
Advantaged ReiatsuReiatsu Stat is at least 10-24% above another Reiatsu StatThe combatant holding Advantaged Reiatsu is able to Reiatsu Maim his opponent. His Spiritual Pressure moderately affects those around him.

As a holder of Advantaged Reiatsu, your opponent becomes maimed, his Actions slightly hindered.
Matched ReiatsuBoth Reiatsu Stats are at least 0-9% of each otherBoth combatants's Reiatsu are evenly Matched. Neither has an advantage over the other.
Reiatsu: That Feel

You read Reiatsu Crush and soiled yourself; yea, Reiatsu Crushing can happen here at B:DotU. Let's justify the importance of Reiatsu, then.

Naturally, all spiritual beings posses, well, spirit; we call this Reiryoku. But, Reiryoku only refers to a spiritual being's potential energy, which is stored within his/her soul. This is where Reiatsu comes into play. Reiatsu, or Spiritual Pressure, is the physical force exerted when releasing Reiryoku. It is a vital aspect of Bleach, and thus just as important here.

Reiatsu Clashes only occur when a character releases their Reiryoku. The Clash is calculated on the spot (the defending character's post), its result taking effect immediately.

With that said, let's take a look at the three Reiatsu Clash effect categories:

Reiatsu MaimRequires Advantaged ReiatsuReiatsu Maimed targets are forced to deal with their enemy's overbearing presence. Maimed targets have all their combative Stats debuffed by 5% each.
Reiatsu CrippleRequires Overpowered ReiatsuReiatsu Crippled targets are forced to deal with their enemy's buckling presence. Crippled targets have all their combative Stats debuffed by 20% each.
Reiatsu CrushRequires Dominated ReiatsuReiatsu Crushed targets are forced to deal with their enemy's suffocating presence. Crushed targets have all their combative Stats debuffed by 50% each.
Statistic Limitations & Notes

Everything should have some form of limitation; ensures fair play. Here are some that apply to Stats:

  • No single Stat may exceed 50% of that character's current Reiryoku. [Example. If a character has 100 Reiryoku, then the highest value any single Stat may reach is 50.]
  • Stats are here to ensure fair play, however, this is a text-based role-play. Barring large Statistical discrepancies, expect to win/lose fights based solely on role-playing.
